Wrestling Team Collecting Wrestling Gear

Wrestling Team Collecting Wrestling Gear

In a bid to reinforce long standing relationships with fellow schools in the area, the Ridgewood High School wrestling team is collecting wrestling shoes and related used gear that they can donate to other high school teams who have stood with them through thick-and-thin via gear sharing. Underfinanced programs are causing an increase in the number of highschool athletes who would have to wait for their counterparts and teammates to finish before they can suit up and take the mat.

The effort is designed to encourage more students to take-up wrestling by eliminating the perception that it is a forgotten sport. A wrestling head gear can be purchased for $20 and yet there aren't enough to go around in schools. There are also associated health concerns that are sure to raise and flag issues with regard to bacterial infections.
